I have to say, I'm not understanding what is going on in fandom these days. Feeling my age, I guess.

What is it that drives people to try to claim copyrighted work as their own, to steal other people's stories, to insist that there *are* no copyright issues with using press photos, Tolkien's characters, and/or real people's names and likenesses? And most of all, WHY ever would someone refer an actor to a website that contains both slash fiction AND RPS without any indication from said actor that he would be OK with such, let alone that he might be *interested* in it? I'm just not following.
